Great band. They're from my area, and they're super hard working. Please, please, please, buy their EP digitally for some money, or buy a shirt, or order a hard copy of the EP.

Are you hurting for The Black Dahlia Murder to put out another record like “Unhallowed” or “Nocturnal”, or even new At The Throne of Judgment?!  WELL, HERE YOU GO.  So much melody, so many technical & catchy riffs channeled into such an evil package!  It is SUCH a shame these guys broke up, god damn.  They could’ve been huge.  This album is a classic, can’t believe I forgot about them!  \m/

This is one of the most interesting mixes of genres I’ve heard recently.  At times, these guys shred like Rings of Saturn…at times, they just go ham like Suffocation or Aborted…at times, they actually sprinkle in some slams a la Ingested, and then there’s also some industrial elements mixed in there too…which, usually I can’t stand, but these guys have so much else going on that it makes them palatable!  I STRONGLY recommend picking this one up.  Plus, they’re Italian (!!!), and they only have 82 likes on Facebook…CHANNEL YOUR INNER HIPSTER.

YES!  Definitely my best post in a week or so :) These guys sound like sort of a combination between Micawber’s flat-out savage heaviness and So This Is Suffering’s shreddy grooves.  So good!  All fans of deathcore definitely need to check this out.

Damn this is angry.  Murky, kinda semi-sludgy production that gives the record a crusty feel at times, and even some Dark Sermon-esque riffs, but it actually sounds a little like Trailer Park Massacre as well \m/  Some interesting metalcore elements even thrown in there for good measure…I don’t really know how to describe it I guess!

This is some awesome hardcore right here. It's similar to bands like Botch, Gaza and other sick, evil hardcore. They came out with a full-length album in 2012 that kicks a huge amount of ass which is also on their bandcamp for a measly 5 dollars so support these guys, because they deserve it 100%!

4 songs, almost 70 MINUTES of really, REALLY atmospheric black metal. Good production (for the genre, at least), great vocals, and a surprisingly small amount of filler (except for the third song, which is an acoustic song). This is for fans of my earlier Hope Drone post, but with way more atmopsherezz.

This is a black metal release that surprised me. It's a pretty fun and unique take on the genre with really intense atmospheric riffing and DIYish production that actually sounds pretty good. If you enjoy deafheaven or Wolves in the Throne Room you will thoroughly enjoy this, but I'd also recommend this to anyone who has been trying to get into black metal but can't find any bands that don't sound like they recorded their material in a toilet.

4 songs. 35 minutes. Despair.

Well this band is different.. The vocals are a bit odd, but the cleans are really strong (Check out Crimson Dust). I really enjoy the guitar and the arrangement of the songs. It sounds a bit like Dir En Grey and just a warning *This is in Japanese*. Also the song names are very poorly translated from Japanese.

Holy crap this is SO HEAVY.  Haven’t gotten my head pummeled in like this since hearing Delta’s “Voyager” EP for the first time!  These guys have a much more technical and experimental flair to them than Delta though, who are more of a straight-up in-your-face brand of prog/atmospheric deathcore…these guys bring the atmosphere, but they also bring some trippy Danza-style mathy riffs to the party.  Chip in a couple bucks if you can bbys, they more than deserve it!

Dormant Ordeal – It Rains, It Pours (2013)

Freaking PHENOMENAL death metal right here!  This is how it’s done…plus, the band was cool enough to drop the album for “Name Your Price”.  Throw them a couple bucks if you guys can, “It Rains, It Pours” is definitely worth it!  Some elements from just straight-up death metal with some simplistic yet punishing riffs a la Konkeror, but definite influence from bands like Behemoth.

This is an independent release by Dormant Ordeals and I gotta say, beautiful recording quality for a DIY approach. Some good straight up Death Metal without all the frills, just crushing riffs and beautiful execution , song to song. Poland seems to be popping in the Death Metal arena and these guys have quite the potential to shine with the greats. Vocals left me kinda wanting more but I can hear how they want to sound and it works great with what they do. There is a little prog thrown in this album along with an underlining of technical solos and drums which help break out of the sometimes boring sound of straight DM bands. Overall great album and one worthy of your attention!

Pagan Records Webstore
(Ships physical CD to the states for about $16, not bad)

A Polish metal band deriving a lot of influence off old Deicide, Morbid Angel and Immolation, Gortal does this style of DM perfectly. Really great modern twist and technicality mixed with that good old early 90's death metal gives way to an amazing sound which they nail on the head. They perform such punishing heaviness the likes I haven't really heard from any recent DM band, giving them big ups on the scene. Gortal stands as a very powerful force in the genre and are proving they will have a fruitful future with the dedication you can clearly hear in their music. Some crazy intense riffing coupled with amazing lead guitar only gets better with the precise drums and with how crisp the recording is, you can feel the aggression. Vocals couldn't fit their style any better with those great lows and matching highs, shits awesome. I'd say these guys are gods of newer straight up DM.

Ok for this version of Duckcore I will only be providing bandcamp links and if the albums free, a download. If you dont wanna buy what I post, well use torrents or getmetal. I cant stop ya, nor am I saying its wrong. I just dont want duckcore being shut down again

So to start off my first post, I decided to showcase these beasts. Kleos is just how I like my Proggy Death Metal, fast hard hitting and amazing guitar work that at certain moments, gives a very soothing feel while ripping your face off at the same time. These guys also throw in a good dose of melodic structure that seems to be the backing of their style and its done very well. Oh and them damn amazing solos are fucking tight as shit! The vocals are spot on for this style of DM and the lyrics are pretty fucking sweet. If you dig this shit, help these dudes out! They deserve it.

One of the best instrumental bands out there, having a uniquely creative sound like none I’ve heard elsewhere.  SUFTA are actually the only instrumental group to ever make an album of the year list of mine, last year (which, by the way, was a tough-as-hell year for all albums, let alone instrumentals).  Even though they gave me permission to post this, please, please chip $2 to these guys for writing music that just makes you feel good, for a change <3

YES!!  If this isn’t in my top 10-15 full lengths of the year at the end of the year, you have my permission to punch me in the face for forgetting.  I asked for the band's permission to post this album, because, frankly, they’re one of the most criminally underrated/unknown bands out there right now.

To give you an idea of what they sound like…take The HAARP Machine, eliminate some of the clean singing and Arabic instrumentation, add assloads of groove to their wildly technical riffs, and you have Mycelia.  BUY IT, GET IT, SHARE IT, WHATEVER.  JUST SUPPORT.

9. Decadent Stupidity
10. The Human Problems

At times these guys sound a LOT like Catch The Sun :) The top youtube comment pretty much nails it on the head:  melodic, heavy, with flourishes of technicality and savage grooviness (similar to Irukandji) where they go from 0 to 60 faster than you can start banging your head.  Can’t really think of another comparison off the top of my head at this point

2. Day of Bloody Revenge
3. On Your Grave Sin

Big, lumbering Russian deathcore that sounds like sort of a combination between Depths and Silence.  You slow, punishing deathcore kids should enjoy it.

Australia’s answer to The Vile Impurity?  Same kind of jams, and even though TVI is definitely better, these guys rule hard too.  Either way, I’m all over this EP.  Shipped a couple bucks their way…you should too!  Plus, the art is pretty fucking gnarly.

NICE! A more prog/djent version of atmospheric bands like Devil Sold His Soul or Rinoa. I´m a big fan of this kind of music. Zeal from Poland nail´d it.
