I know a lot of you guys hate this band’s cleans, but I actually kind of like them…that being said, this album is BRILLIANT.  Next to TesseracT and The Safety Fire, probably the progressive metal album of the year so far.  Nothing entirely revolutionary, but there are so many different types of progressive metal incorporated into these 12 tracks I’m having a difficult time keeping up.  Ethereal atmosphere, brilliantly-written lyrics that speak beautifully to the concept of the album, a well-told story, catchy riffs and breakdowns that fit the mood perfectly, and understated keyboard elements…feather-light keystrokes, similar to Make Them Suffer, that bring the listener through Akeldama's "wintery wasteland" in almost a dream state.  I’m on my second listen of the album, and I’m enjoying it even more than the first.  Don’t miss out!
