So I'm sorry if this is in any way kind of a jumbled post, I'm doing this from my phone haha. Theses guys are awesome, full of brutality and hard hitting riffs that punished my brain this morning lol. I couldn't find a Facebook page for them but I'll keep looking. As you can see this album is free and worth so much more.
This is pretty good, it's also pretty mellow. It starts out heavy and progresses into a more melodic state, which is pretty cool and easy to listen to. There's ton's of feel's in this, and definitely worth downloading.
I was able to listen to this masterpiece 6 months ago, and I´m happy as fuck that my friends in FOTO finally release their first record. This is awesome Instrumental Prog Metal, like a heavier version of Scale The Summit!

One of my favorite solo artists released his awesome record "Exile" again, with new production and some bonus tracks. Definitely woth the time, awesome stuff!
So it's been awhile since ive posted and im sorry for that. These guy's are killer, and this EP all about halo which is awesome. The guitar is perfect with technical structure, with melody and great breakdowns when needed. The vocals are brutal, punishing, and just straight up in your face. The execution of the symphonic and melodic section's mesh flawlessly, and it's superbly done. All in all this has everything you could want, and in pulls aspect's of several different genres. It's only four buck's on bandcamp, and if you're a fan of halo and love good death metal this is for you.
After "Elite" Within The Ruins cemented their originality and unique sound as their own. "Phenomena" is exactly where "Elite" left off. This album full of complex song structures and even more effect ridden guitar riffs, but seems to be missing the hooks that left most of us drooling after Elite. "Gods Amongst Men" was a great track to select as their single, as it may go down as the "Feeding Frenzy" of this album and definitely a crowd pleaser.
"Eternal Shore" has an absolutely terrific solo. Joe has mastered the delicate blend of shred and melody as he again demonstrates in the highly anticipated Ataxia III. That being said...the instrumental Enigma has to be one of the funnest songs to listen to, as it throws in some highly recognizable bits of tunes as Mario and Inspector Gadget and some others I'm still trying to decipher.
The Drummer aka Kevin and Andrew really pull in some nice tight rhythms to lay the groundwork for Joe's imaginative riffs and leads. Tim does what he does best, and seems he's really trying to explore some new grounds as he puts in some different vocal ranges.
This album certainly has that killer Within The Ruins feel to it, pick a random track and any fan will recognize who it is. If you enjoyed their previous works, you will not be disappointed, but don't expect any new punches to be thrown. Seems they have found their sound and perfected it.
Phenomena is a solid 7/10.
Preorder the album and support these monsters on their upcoming tour on Summer Slaughter, album drops July 22, 2014.

Spain underground scene slowly growing on great bands, like this guy from Madrid. Proggy metalcore/hardcore, with some djenty influence in their riffs.
For fans of: It Prevails, Beartooth, Hundredth, Counterparts.
I've been pretty inactive about posting on the blog recently and I really hope this post makes up for that. Sunwalker is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL melodic metalcore band. The atmosphere has me in a trance. This is seriously some of the most melodic, driving music I've heard. This band deserves your support so head over to the bandcamp link and help them out however you can.

Canada has
been a hot bed of solid tech death bands lately, and these guys do not fail at
delivering some great tech riffs and leads on top of the beastly drums and bass
laying down such a solid foundation. The best part about Dissolution is the
subtle technicality they present, it's not so over bearing where you may need
breaks in between songs to rest your mind, but just enough to leave you wanting
more. This album
opens up with “Ride to Devastation” which is a great track to start with,
displaying the bands full range of abilities and what they can offer. It has a
heavy opening riff and immediately gets you to start head banging. They keep it
banging until about halfway through they drop the harmonized melody on you
that's reminiscent of Iron Maiden it makes you wish they’d solo right after…and
of course they do, proving that with all the riffage, they have the leads as
well. Next comes
in “The Pact.” It starts off hard and doesn’t let up. A little less than a
minute in the double bass kicks in taking this track to a new level of
intensity (which is my favorite part of the album). They were set to devastate
with this track…mission accomplished. I couldn’t imagine on how hard the pits
would be during this track. “Abnormal
Appetite” is the second single they released and the one that got me pumped for
the album. The pinch harmonics used throughout these riffs are so intriguing.
If you’re a melody seeker, this track will satisfy your auditory needs with the
solo that just soars, changing the pace of this track in a subtle welcoming way
that you don’t quite expect. Top that with lyrics about cannibalism, and I was
hooked. “Falling in
Shreds” is full of lead work. It kicks off thrashy, but busts into an almost funky
beat. They don’t let the vibe of punishment die though, as the next few riffs
keep the pace up as the solos adds some spice. Next is the
first single they release, and the first track I heard, “Years of Redemption.”
While I dug the track initially, it didn’t do much for me when I heard it
except make me curious what else they had to offer. I do like the odd style of
verse riffing on this one but may go down as my least favorite on the album
(but in no way is it a bad track). “A Rust
Coloured Dawn” starts with a nice black metal tremolo riff and goes into an
atmospheric feel that the whole band seems to shine in. Lasts long enough to
let you groove to it, before they kick it into thrash mode and along comes more
ripping solos. The atmospheric feel comes back in an almost Death fashion and
kicks into some groove that should come with a warning label of sore neck
afterwards. It also has some very unexpected additional elements that I’ll keep
to myself, it’s worth listening for. Hands down my favorite track of the album. Track 7 is
“A Raven’s Stare” and is another great example of the amazing feet work this
drummer has and also the musicianship these guys possess, each instrument
complimenting the other as they create an awesome wall of sound for the vocals. The closer
is the title track, “Natural Selection.” It has a fantastic verse riff that
compliments the vocals. This track contains probably my favorite solos on the
album, and the post-solo riff they transition into is so fluid. I’m incredibly impressed with this band. Every
instrument is masterfully played, and to top it off, the guitarists do the
vocals. This album is a solid 9/10 and any death metal head should love this
intense style, specifically any fans of Beyond Creation or Obscura. Bandcamp (new album not up there yet)
These Swiss dudes have made quite an interesting concept to their band. The concepts and ideas are hilarious, and the music is crushing, and you can tell these guys are a ton of fun to hang with. Usually I despise clean singing, but the clean vocals on "Through the Eyes of Machete" with the overall culmination of guitars and growls I have to admit worked out great (not so much on the title track in my opinion).
Album opens up with an instrumental "Welcome to Stud Farm" and right away the track name lets you know what you're in store for. Music is gentle, a pleasant distraction that lulls you into a false sense of beauty before the band kicks in and just gets banging. Then it's off to metal land. This album is an onslaught of solid riffs and grooves any death metaller should find easy to headbang to.
This is really good, I think the mexican scene is really taking off. There's a lot of that Egyptian feel to this, especially the first two or three songs. Vocal's are super solid, same with the instruments as a whole. This is only seventy eight cents, which is a damn steal, so most definitely pick this up.
Ignore the ugly artwork, ignore everything that make you believe that this is a shitty band.
This has a lot of potential, awesome grooves, beasty vocals and great melodies. FFO: Volumes/Auras with solos.
Fucking masterpiece. This is how modern progressice music have to sound like. I totally in love with this awesome meshup between Djent/Ambient/Post Rock/Progressive Rock. Really amazing.
Haven't posted in awhile, and this is a good one. Great crushing vocals, ripping guitar straight out of the depths of hell, all around a super solid release. The solo in Leviathan totally reminds me of through the eye's of the dead, which isnt a bad thing haha. Five bucks aint bad, it's most definitely worth it. Pick it up, through them a like on Facebook, and enjoy the shit out of this one.
